Richmond, VA - October 6, 2004 - Velocity Micro, the Richmond, Va. based provider of premier PCs, rounds off the third quarter with resounding success. The launch of the immensely popular Velocity Micro NoteMagix B50 Campus Edition notebook and its six industry media awards for systems in every user category have contributed to the company's incredible year.
In digital editing and digital media, PC magazine gave Editor's Choice Awards to the ProMagix system in May 2004 and the Vision FX A/V/D in its April 20, 2004 issue. "As enthusiasts," the PC magazine staff wrote of the Vision FX A/V/D, "we swear that there's virtually nothing high-end missing from this black tower." In June, Cnet also bestowed an Editor's Choice award on the Vision FX A/V/D, praising the system for having "the right combination of components and performance for digital-video editing."
For mainstream use, PC World understood that with the capacity to meet specific high performance standards, the ProMagix and Vision 64 cross categories with great success. In June, PC World included the Vision 64 in its list of the "Top 15 Desktop PCs."
In the gaming category, Cnet called the Velocity Micro ProMagix "a beautiful and overachieving gaming system," giving it an Editor's Choice Award in February. The very components that make the Vision 64 ideal for digital media work also serve mainstream and gaming users well; an ultra fast processor, huge hard drive, and excellent video card have extensive applications.
For mobile use, Velocity Micro once again scored high marks. "If you're a student looking for some serious productivity (and fun).then the B50 is right up your alley," PC magazine wrote in its August 17, 2004 issue when it awarded the Velocity Micro B50 Campus Edition notebook its coveted Editor's Choice award. Editors praised the notebook's performance, its configuration of components basic users need and enthusiasts demand, and incredible value for users on the go.
"Catch it while you can," PC magazine advised its readers in discussing the Velocity Micro NoteMagix B50 Campus Edition. This reaction to the B50 Campus Edition demonstrates how Velocity Micro meets the needs of consumers who want more from their computer systems. The popularity of Velocity Micro's custom options, high performance, and meticulous craftsmanship of each system indicate the direction where more users will head in the future as they seek systems to meet their needs.
"It's incredible to witness the response to this system," Velocity Micro Founder and President Randy Copeland reflects. "Looking at this phenomenon confirms what I have long believed, namely that Velocity Micro is meeting a need in the PC community.
