How to Clean Dust From Your PC

Nothing chokes the life out of a PC quite like dust. But with some quick and easy regular maintenance, you can keep your system dust free and running like new. Watch this video to learn how to clean your PC of dust.

Step 1: Shut down and unplug the PC

Never try to clean dust from your PC while it’s running, so make sure to shut it down and disconnect it from the power source. It’s also a good idea to disconnect any connected peripherals too, just to be safe.

Step 2: Clean All Dust Filters

If your case has dust filters, remove them and wipe them with a clean cloth. Use compressed air to blow out any residual dust

Step 3: Blow out the Dust

Still using your compressed air, blow out all dust, working front to back. Take extra care to clean your heatsinks and all fans. It’s ok to take your time here. Just make sure to keep the can upright to avoid any condensation.

Step 4: Reconnect Power and Peripherals

Once you’re good and clean, plug it all back in and power it up. Repeat this process every 6 to 12 months to keep your PC breathing free and easy.
