Power Supply

Powering your next PC

A great power supply is very important when building a computer. Since the PSU converts the AC power from your home or office into the Direct Current that your PC needs to operate, then distributes that power to each component, clean, consistent power is step one to building a reliable system.

Learn more about the various computer power supply options we offer below.

PSU F.A.Q.

How much power supply do I need?

PSU capacity depends on your specific configuration. You'll need enough output to run the components you've selected, with headroom to spare. Check out this blog post for more details.

Why is PSU efficiency important?

A power supply’s job is to convert the AC power from your wall outlet to DC power that your other components can use. The efficiency rating is how well it makes that conversion. Lower rated PSUs will generate more heat, have more wasted energy, and will have a higher failure rate.

What does a modular PSU mean?

Fully modular power supplies have removable and interchangeable cabling vs. the integrated cabling in non modular PSUs. Modular PSUs are therefor much easier to upgrade and replace since changes can be made without having to require the PC.
