ZBrush FAQ
How Multi-threaded is ZBrush?
ZBrush is multithreaded, but it’s not considered a very heavyweight program by workstation standards, so Intel Core and Ryzen processors with 10+ cores will perform similarly to 64 core Threadripper Pro.
Does ZBrush need ECC RAM?
ECC – or error correcting RAM – is not something that ZBrush specifically requires or benefits from. In most cases 32GB of DDR4 or DDR5 RAM are sufficient.
Why is cooling important?
The faster the PC hardware, the more heat it generates. Dissipating that heat properly is the key to a stable, long-lasting workstation. Velocity Micro’s 25 years’ experience has allowed us to innovate case design and CPU coolers to keep your workstation as fast and cool as possible.
Quadro or Geforce graphics?
ZBrush is primarily CPU based, meaning modeling and sculpting are not accelerated by the GPU. We do not recommend a higher cost Quadro card for ZBrush. You’ll see much better value from a low to mid-range Geforce.
